What We Collect

When you use Fairvisor, we collect the following categories of personal and operational data:

  • Email address — collected at registration and used for account management, billing, and service communications.
  • Payment data — billing details (card number, expiry, CVV) are collected and processed directly by Stripe. Fairvisor does not store raw payment card data on its servers.
  • API metrics — aggregated usage counters (request counts, error rates, latency distributions) generated by your deployment of the Fairvisor edge proxy and reported to the Control Plane. These metrics are associated with your account.
  • Analytics data — we use Google Analytics and PostHog to collect anonymised information about how visitors interact with our website and product, including pages visited, session duration, feature usage, and referral source. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.

How We Use It

We use the data we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the Service, including authentication and account management;
  • Process billing and manage subscriptions via Stripe;
  • Provide you with usage dashboards, alerts, and other features of the Control Plane;
  • Improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns;
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. invoices, account notifications, and material policy updates).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

What We Do Not Collect

Fairvisor is designed with a clear boundary between the control plane and your infrastructure. The edge proxy runs on your own servers and processes your users’ requests locally. Fairvisor does not receive, store, or process:

  • The content of HTTP requests or responses passing through the edge proxy;
  • Your users’ personal data, IP addresses, or any other end-user identifying information;
  • Any application-layer payload data.

Only aggregated, statistical metrics (counts, percentages, latency buckets) are transmitted to the Control Plane. This architecture means Fairvisor never has access to your customers’ data.

Third Parties

We work with a limited number of third-party sub-processors to deliver the Service. A current list of sub-processors, including their roles and data processing locations, is maintained at /legal/subprocessors/.

Data Retention

  • Account data (email, account settings): retained for the lifetime of your account and deleted within 30 days of account closure.
  • API metrics and audit logs: retention varies by plan — 90 days on Pro, 365 days on Scale, and indefinitely on Enterprise. See the pricing page for details. Data beyond your plan’s retention window is automatically purged.
  • Payment records: retained as required by Stripe’s policies and applicable financial regulations, typically for up to 7 years.

Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the GDPR and applicable data protection law:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@fairvisor.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies set by Google Analytics and PostHog to collect anonymised usage statistics. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can disable or delete these cookies at any time through your browser settings, or by using a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts. Opting out of analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the Service.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
